ETHNOLINGUISTIC POLICY OF RUSSIA IN ACTUALIZING ETHNICITY (90-s OF THE XX CENTURY)
Abstract
Settling the issues of ethnic development of the Russian Federation after the Soviet Union collapse was the condition of new Russia emergence as a single state. The ethnic factor directly affected the domestic and foreign policy of the state. Ethnonational elites sought to consolidate preferences. The language issue as the strongest consolidating factor considering the aggravated ethnic problems has been on the agenda of the Federal and Republican lawmakers. The laws of that time-period reflect the quality of relations between the Federal center and the republics within the Russian Federation.Key words
Ethnic factor, ethnonational policy, linguistic legislation.
