THE LEXICAL ITEM NORTH IN F. MOWAT’S NOVELS

Abstract

The article deals with the realization of the dictionary meanings, the word-formative and phrase forming potential of the lexical item “north” in the novels of the Canadian writer Farley Mowat. The aim of the research work is to reveal the linguistic environment of the concept NORTH with the help of the lexical item “north” both in the originals and translations of Farley Mowat’s books.
