PESKOVSKY FACTORY IN DOCUMENTS OF THE FIRST GENERAL CENSUS OF THE RUSSIAN EMPIRE IN 1897
Abstract
The author analyzes the population of mountain factory at the end of the XIX century by the example of Peskovsky factory settlement in the Vyatka province. The documents of the first general census of the Russian Empire in 1897 served as the source base. The article examines the social, ethnic and religious, gender and age structure, employment, literacy rate and marital status. The author states the homogeneity of the structure of factory society (which is reflected in the prevalence of the Russian orthodox peasant population); identifies the main sources of income; presents the factors affecting the level of education; reveals the reasons for changing the typology of households.
