USING THE PROJECT METHOD IN STUDY OF COORDINATE PLANE
Abstract
The article reveals advantages and disadvantages of using a project method in teaching mathematics. The disadvantages include narrow practical knowledge acquired in the process of doing a project and formation of clip-thinking in schoolchildren. The introduction of this method into the mass school practice will cause leveling down the mathematical education. On the other hand, one can’t but admit the expediency of using this method at additional lessons of mathematics, when after the systematic study of the section, the new format consolidating or refreshing of the previously learnt material is required. For example, this method is considered appropriate when a celestial map is made with the help of the method of coordinates.
