COMMITMENT OF THE FUTURE FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHER TO NATIONAL AND PATRIOTIC VALUES
Abstract
The article presents the basic provisions of the state program “Patriotic education of citizens of the Russian Federation during 2016—2020”, analyzes the concept of “national and patriotic values”, gives various classifications of values, reveals the content of the main national and patriotic values (the Homeland, national spirit, patriotism, revival of historical memory and national dignity, preserving national and cultural identity, respect for the state and national symbols, love of native culture and language, counteraction of the anti-Russian ideology). The paper reveals the axiological potential of a foreign language in orientation of a future teacher on national and patriotic values providing the introduction of patriotic ideas into the substantial component of teaching a foreign language in a pedagogical higher education institution.
