SOVIET ANTI-ALCOHOL POLICY IN LATE 1980-s AND ITS IMPLEMENTATION IN ORENBURG REGION

Abstract

Having analyzed the materials from the State archive of the Russian Federation and the Center for documentation of contemporary history of the Orenburg region, the author of the article dwells on the Soviet anti-alcohol campaign in late 1980-s conducted on the territory of the Orenburg region. The paper names the reasons for the introduction of anti-alcohol legislation, discusses the process of implementation of the policy in the territory of the Orenburg region and summarizes its results.
