CONSCRIPTION OF YOUTH IN SOUTHERN URALS DURING GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR

Abstract

The article describes the arrangements and peculiarities of youth’s military conscriptions in the Southern Urals in 1941—1945 (during Great Patriotic War). The number of the callup youth is shown by years, as well as the importance of young people in the ranks of the army as the war evolved. It was found, that in the period of mass conscription, the Southern Urals sent about 390 000 young people, which comprised 19% of the regional contingent. Almost all recruits studied at general military training courses since 1942. The number of recruits who passed military training in public-service institution increased in late 1942.
