THE EVACUATION OF THE CIVILIAN POPULATION IN THE TATAR ASSR DURING GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR

Abstract

The Great Patriotic War has caused the need for the mass migration of people from threatened areas in the rear of the country to ensure their personal safety. Large numbers of evacuees have been taken in by the Tatar ASSR along with other eastern regions. The article examines the reception and accommodation processes of the evacuated population. The new complex of archival documents and memories allows to analyze the problems of social security of citizens arriving in TASSR, their accommodation and adaptation in a new place, to evaluate the effectiveness of the evacuation center, to determine the role of local authorities in the solution of evacuated citizens’ problems, in rendering state and public support.
