SOME FUNCTIONING ASPECTS OF AGRICULTURAL INDUSTRY IN THE ORENBURG PROVINCE IN 1923—1927 AS BASES OF FOOD PROVISION
Abstract
The article is devoted to the correlation of extensive and intensive methods in agriculture of the Orenburg province. Based on the vendibility indicators of farm households and on the size of their acreage it was noted that the goods of the intensive industries were produced on the fine seed farms, but they were not put on the market. However, the methods used in counting of the mutual contingency showed that the amount of seeds is not the only factor affecting the marketability of the farm households. Extensive expansion of the province’s areas with the unfinished economic colonization affected by the Civil war and famine is shown in connection with the theory of modernization. The author concludes that the expansion of cultivated areas was an important step in the preparation for the general intensification of agriculture.Key words
