UNDER THE GUISE OF SOCIAL PROTEST: VIOLENCE AND LAWLESSNESS “INSIDE” THE CLASS STRUGGLE IN RUSSIA IN LATE XIX — EARLY XX CENTURY
Abstract
The article attempts to explain the increase in social conflict violence and lawlessness, observed in Russia since the second half of the XIX century. The author expresses the opinion that at least three factors in the Russian society not only affected serious moral deformation, but also formed a certain stratum of people with different values and moral attitudes, which played a crucial role in the consequential revolution and civil war. The life conditions, radically changed after the revolution, the disintegration of the former state and its institutions created the conditions for the spread of ideas of violence as the only true path of development.
