LEISURE TIME OF STALINSK CITY DWELLERS IN THE DAYS OF THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to describe the main forms of leisure time of Stalinsk city dwellers during the Great Patriotic War. It analyzes the documentation of Stalinsk City Executive Committee and Novosibirsk and Kemerovo Regional Executive Committees as well as the materials of the city newspapers. The paper analyzes the structure of the leisure time of city dwellers, attendance of cultural institutions, availability of entertainment and ticket prices. The author came to the conclusion that the leisure time of the city dwellers played an important role in the process of their morale-boosting and mobilization of forces to handle strategic tasks of the national defense.
