THE END OF THE SOVIET ERA BY EYES OF THE EYEWITNESS (ON MATERIALS OF THE PERSONAL DIARY OF L. N. BOLSHAKOV)
Abstract
The article shows the value of diary entries of the honorable citizen of Orenburg, scientist and public figure L. N. Bolshakov as a unique historical source about the period of “perestroika” and collapse of the Soviet Union. The conclusion is drawn that this source allows to contribute to recording the final pages of the Soviet history and to reconstructing the emotional perception of events of the 1980—1990s by the Soviet intellectuals in the province.
