DEPLOYMENT OF MASS HOUSING CONSTRUCTION IN THE SOUTHERN URALS DURING THE POLITICAL LEADERSHIP OF N. S. KHRUSHCHEV
Abstract
The article reflects the main points of the transition to mass housing construction in the Southern Urals: the change in the organization of the construction process (the creation of unified construction departments), the industrialization of the construction industry, the introduction of standard design, the growth of capital investments and the introduction of residential space. It is shown that the process of transition from a quarterly planning to the construction of new micro districts in the region was accompanied by the growth of communal amenities. It is proved that for the first time in the years of Soviet power the Southern Urals saw the increase in the average size of living space per person. The situation in the Chelyabinsk region was more favorable, the situation in the Kurgan region was worse. The article also shows the changes in the way of life and living standards of the population of the region as a result of mass resettlement in isolated well-maintained apartments.
