APPEARANCE AND DEVELOPMENT OF MATHS EXERCISE BOOK AS A SPECIFIC GENRE OF DIDACTIC LITERATURE IN RUSSIA IN THE 2nd PART OF THE XIXth CENTURY
Abstract
The article analyzes the history of evolution of a maths exercise book. It is shown that the development of this genre of didactic literature was most active during the second part of the XIXth century. Examples of the most famous exercise books are provided. The author states the fact of the appearance of new student’s books — exercise books with given answers — that is closely connected with the appearance of exercise books. The special significance of arithmetic and algebra exercise books is highlighted, while the role of geometry and trigonometry exercise books is less significant. The variety of types of exercise books is brought forward. The problem of creating exercise books and of copyright is raised.
