PLANT COMMUNITIES OF Caragana jubata (Pallas) Poiret OF THE SOUTHWESTERN REGIONS OF BURYATIA

Abstract

Caragana jubata (Pallas) Poiret is a xeropsichrophite growing in the mountains of Southern Siberia, the Far East, Yakutia, Central Asia, the western part of Mongolia, China and the Himalayas. It is used in folk medicine to treat inflammatory and catarrhal diseases, peptic ulcer. It looks decorative while flowering but it is not used as an ornamental plant. The threat to its populations is created by exogenous geomorphological processes (landslides), floods, shrub cutting for medicinal needs, grazing. The article studies the cenopopulations of Caragana jubata in the southwestern regions of Buryatia, and identifies the area of the found plant communities with the presence of Caragana jubata. The necessary security measures mean the inclusion of the habitat into the zone of special protection in the territory of the Tunkinsky National Park and exclusion of C. jubata from the procurement plan.
