THE FACTORS OF MIDDLE VOLGA MENNONITES SOCIOCULTURAL IDENTITY PRESERVATION (CASES OF ALEKSANDERTAL DISTRICTS OF SAMARA PROVINCE)

Abstract

The article is devoted to the history of Samara province colonies of German Mennonites, to the main features of their everyday life, characteristics of management and economic life of the colonies, the impact maid by the authorities on the colonists, factors which influence preservation of Mennonites’ sociocultural identity. The chronological scope of the study covers the XIX — first half of XX centuries. The documentary basis of the article is previously unpublished archival documents of state archives of the Samara region.
