GERMAN EXPERIMENTAL PEDAGOGY IN THE CONTEXT OF DEVELOPING THE MODERN PEDAGOGIC IDEAS
Abstract
The article presents the results of analysis and research of ideas and experience of German experimental pedagogy (end of the 19th — beginning of the 20th century) from the viewpoint of the development of education theory and practice. German experimentalists’ heritage is a valuable source for modern researches due to the fact that many of the problems raised by them haven’t lost their topical character and demand thorough further study. The effectiveness of the direction under consideration is interpreted in the context of its prognostic potential in the development of pedagogy. The conceptual ideas that are common to or in sync with modern education are the following: the concept of life-long learning carried out throughout human life; a comprehensive approach to the study of pedagogical reality, integration in educational practice; constant search for new, more effective forms and ways of organizing the education process, considering the changing educational environment; setting for constant pedagogical self-education and improving the professional qualifications and competences of teachers.
