THE MAIN APPROACHES TO THE DESIGN OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR MASTER’S DEGREE IN “SOCIAL WORK”
Abstract
This article reflects the experience of the Department of social work and social security of North Arctic Federal University named after M. V. Lomonosov in the design of educational programs for master’s degree in “Social work”. The article is addressed mainly to the heads of master’s programs and teachers implementing these programs.
The paper considers the development features of the flexible and unique master’s program that meets the challenges of the society and the changing environment, taking into account the traditions, missions, resource capabilities of the University, the ideology of professional training of social work professionals. The methodological basis for designing the master’s program is the competence-modular approach, with the emphasis on the need for optimal integration of academic and instrumental, convergent and divergent approaches. The compliance of the program content with the requests of various local social branches is considered by the authors a basic condition for the effective educational program. At the same time, the educational program of the master’s degree should include a broad research component, the possibility of testing the results and their application in social practice through projects. The development of network educational programs, the use of the methodology of “behavioral Economics” in the design of master’s programs, the expansion of the Department’s interaction with the professional community are identified as potential ways of developing the master’s degree programs.
