HISTORICAL DYNAMICS OF SCHOOL EDUCATION IN THE RUSSIAN PROVINCE (ON THE MATERIALS OF THE TRANS-URALS IN LATE XVIII — EARLY XX CENTURIES)
Abstract
The objective of the article is to consider the evolution of the system of school education of the Trans-Urals with the help of functional methods. In the period from the end of XVIII to the beginning of XX centuries the solution to problems of national education lagged behind society request. The situation in the province was especially hard. The expansion of the school network there coexisted with the permanent shortage of educational institutions, and only to a small extent it was accompanied by growth in the number students in local schools. Sporadic measures to overcome the isolation of teachers did not solve most of his problems. The growing market created additional difficulties for teachers. It is concluded that the inconsistency of educational reform and the contradictory socio-cultural trends in Russia have caused imbalance between the structuring, providing, and signal subsystems.
