FORMATION STAGES OF STEPPE LANDSCAPES IN EURASIA. QUATERNARY
Abstract
The increasing urbanization and growing changes of the living environment make the study of the species composition, abundance and ecology of urban populations important in theoretical and practical terms. Regular studies of the bird population in Mariental park of the Pushkin district, St. Petersburg have not previously been conducted. In this study, the territory of the park was surveyed during 2018—2019 using the point counting method. During the observation period, 56 bird species belonging to 23 families and 8 orders were identified. The estimation of population density and occurrence of certain bird species is given. The bird species compositions of Mariental and Pavlovsk parks were compared.
