Abstract

The article presents the prerequisites, directions, goals and objectives, the substantial characteristics of extracurricular activities of a university student, shows the need to solve the problem of culture-related education of a student in projection onto students of different age groups (children and youth), who need the formation of an individually-cultural experience of world perception, world understanding, self-awareness in this world in order to overcome the risks of the modern sociocultural situation. Within the framework of the author’s substantiation of extracurricular activities as a culture-related context of student education, the context-modular organization of extracurricular time of a student at a pedagogical university was tested, including value-semantic speech situations and educational (cultural) practices (in the context of a university, educational organization, cultural and recreational institution). The goals, objectives, and functions (motivational, cognitive, value-communicative, organizational-developmental) of extracurricular activities of students aimed at creating a “context” (predicted and real connections, relationships, actions) of understanding, deepening, improving the ways and means of cultural education of students are defined in order to obtain the optimal result of the moral and cognitive development of students, their acquisition of individual cultural experience.
