PRE-REVOLUTIONARY SCHOOL OF THE TRANS-URALS IN LITERARY TEXTS
Abstract
The aim of the research is to analyze the changes in the socio-psychological climate in the pre-revolutionary education of the Trans-Urals in the middle of XIX — early XX centuries. Memoirs and literary works of several local authors, used in the article as sources, represent translation of personal values (sacrificial mission), changes in the daily existence of teachers and in the evaluation judgments about the educational process. There was a steady growth of individualism and personal responsibility in schools. The methodological basis was the advances in sociology, literature studies and social psychology. The reviewed texts allowed to reveal the transformation of mental and socio-cultural processes. The increasing role of education led to a change in values and requirements to teachers and students.
The novelty of the research lies in the use of literary and memoir texts about education in its interaction with the provincial society. The results of the research are relevant for modern Russia, where the entry into the market required the modernization of education.
