HISTORY OF ORENBURG REGIONAL ADMINISTRATION OF ARCHIVES IN 1934—1939
Abstract
The article deals with the legal, managerial, personnel and financial problems of archive administration in Orenburg region. It has been proved that during the period under study the government policy had a detrimental effect on the archive-keeping, which resulted in actual isolation of archives. The author pays special attention to staffing and archival fund formation in Orenburg region. The research is mainly based on archival sources. As a result of the study, the author concludes that the separation of archival institutions from the Middle-Volga regional archival administration and the creation of the Orenburg regional archival administration played a positive role in the organization of archival affairs in the region. The archival service of the Orenburg region managed to strengthen the material and technical base of the archives, increase the staff, and for the first time organized courses on methods and techniques of archiving.
