ARCHEOLOGY IN ORENBURG REGION IN THE EARLY 1920s

Abstract

The article discusses the state of the study of archeology in the Orenburg region in the early 1920s, as well as the problems of archaeological activity of the Society for the Study of the Kyrgyz Region, historical and archaeological education within the Orenburg branch of the Moscow Archaeological Institute, the complexity of the division of museum funds after the transfer of the capital of the Kyrgyz KASSR from Orenburg. Previously unpublished archival materials were introduced into scientific circulation, characterizing the inconsistency and organizational difficulties of historical and archaeological research in the Southern Urals in the early 1920s.
