TO THE PROBLEM OF INFORMATION LEVELS IN THE AUTHORITATIVE SOURCES ON PEASANT REBELLION IN THE EARLY 1920s

Abstract

Analyzing sources on the rebel movement of the 1920s, the author comes to the conclusion that the traditional division of sources into groups, adopted in domestic source studies — by origin, is not enough. The opinion is expressed that in this case a grouping of sources is also appropriate according to the level of reliability of the information, the purposes of their collection and submission, which ultimately allows us to talk about several levels of quality of the information provided, frankness and openness of the data communicated. The analysis of the sources was based on their origin and those specific tasks that they had to solve. As a result, the author suggests identifying at least five groups of sources that differ in the level of information support.

Key words

Rebellion, sources, reliability of information.
