ACTUALIZATION OF THE PROBLEM OF DEVELOPING PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCES OF TEACHERS IN THE FIELD OF WORK WITH GIFTED CHILDREN

Abstract

The article substantiates the relevance of training teachers in the system of additional professional education for working with gifted children; a review of studies on the development of children’s giftedness is carried out; the requirements for the professional competence of teachers in the context of the provisions of the professional standard of the teacher are updated. Based on the results of a diagnostic study conducted using the methodology of D. B. Bogoyavlenskaya, A. V. Brushlinsky for determining the teacher’s tendency to work with gifted children and with the help of the author’s questionnaire the characteristics of the level of readiness of teachers for this type of activity (low, critical, sufficient) and ways to solve the problem of training teachers in postgraduate education for working with gifted children are outlined.
