COUNTRY REST IN THE ORENBURG PROVINCE DURING THE POST-REFORM PERIOD

Abstract

In the post-reform period summer countryside vacations became more popular because life outside the city offered more freedom, a closer connection with nature, and healthier sanitary and hygienic living conditions. Countryside dacha communities formed a specific culture of everyday life with a number of distinctive features. Summer settlements appearing next to large cities were tied to various forms of leisure activities. The article provides a comparative analysis of this form of summer leisure both in terms of geographical diversity, and in the context of metropolitan and provincial country life. The specificity of suburban summer life in the cities of the Orenburg province is highlighted, the possible causes of these features are determined.

Key words

Everyday life, province, leisure, summer cottage vacation.
