ON THE PRINCIPLES AND IDEAS OF RAISING CHILDREN IN NOBLE-INTELLECTUAL FAMILIES (REVIEW OF THE BOOK: VEREMENKO V. A., ZHUKOVA A. E. EDUCATIONAL PRACTICES IN THE NOBLE-INTELLECTUAL FAMILIES OF RUSSIA IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE XIX — EARLY XX CENTURY. St. Petersburg: Pushkin Leningrad State University Publ., 2020. 232 p.)

Abstract

The paper presents the review of the monograph by the St. Petersburg historians V. A. Veremenko and A. E. Zhukova “Educational practices in noble-intellectual families of Russia in the second half of the 19th — early 20th centuries)” published in St. Petersburg in 2020. The authors raised a topical issue related to the historical study of the childhood of a “typical” noble-intellectual family in post-reform Russia. Based on a wide range of historical sources, the monograph reveals the changes that occurred in the civil-patriotic, religious, labor, physical, sex education of the children of the nobility.
