Abstract
The article analyzes the monograph by Rustam Suleimanovich Bakhtiyarov and Alla Vladimirovna Fedorova, which examines the problems of the development of the livestock industry in the Southern Urals in the extreme conditions of the Great Patriotic War. Quite a lot of attention is paid to the implementation of the state policy for the development of cattle breeding in the region, the activities of local authorities, material and technical equipment and fodder base, veterinary and zootechnical service, personnel problem, as well as mobilization of livestock for the needs of the army and home front, evacuation and re-evacuation of animals. The issues of state procurement of livestock products during the war are considered.
