WAYS OF INTERPRETING THE LEXICAL MEANING OF DERIVATIVE WORDS AS AN OBJECT OF WORD-FORMATION ANALYSIS AT SCHOOL
Abstract
The article actualizes the linguodidactic problem of continuous (from the section “Vocabulary” to the section “Word formation”) enrichment of the knowledge of the teacher and students about the ways and interpretation of words in order to effectively analyze their word formation. By analyzing linguistic and linguo-methodological theoretical and practical sources, Russian language textbooks for grades 5 and 6, the results of written cross-sectional work that diagnoses the level of students’ skills in interpreting derivative words, ways to clarify and concretize cognitive information about the ways of their interpretation, originality of semantic definitions of the meaning of the word at the level of interpretive sentences. For literature teachers, a linguodidactic system of methods and corresponding techniques for interpreting the lexical meaning of derivative words, which are the object of word-formation analysis, is presented. Particular attention is paid to the lexical and grammatical originality of reference, synonymic and descriptive interpretations in the form of simple and complex interpretative sentences.
