THE HISTORY OF THE POPULATION PARTICIPATION IN DEVELOPING SOVIET HEALTHCARE IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE 20th CENTURY IN THE DOCUMENTS OF THE STATE ARCHIVE OF RUSSIAN FEDERATION AND THE CENTRAL STATE ARCHIVE OF MOSCOW

Abstract

The article presents a historical overview of the development of volunteer practices in the Soviet healthcare system in the second half of the 20th century under the auspices of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Society in all the variety of organizational forms of social mobilization of the population and specialized areas of activity (sanitary inspectors, sanitary posts and squads, assistants to medical personnel, etc.), which laid the foundation for the traditions of modern medical volunteering in the Russian Federation. The work is based on a wide range of sources contained in the funds of the State Archives of the Russian Federation and the Central State Archives of the city of Moscow. The involvement of archival materials will significantly complement the already known information on the topic of the study, and also made it possible to recreate individual pages in the history of the humanitarian activities of the RRCS bodies using the example of the Moscow city branch of the Society. The problem of the place and role of social activists in the health care system currently requires rethinking.
