Abstract

The review deals with the problem of updating Russian classics in the context of the movement of the literary process from the XIX century to the present; translation discourse as a way of updating the classics on the example of I. S. Turgenev’s activity as a translator and the modern German translation of Turgenev’s “Notes of a Hunter” by V. Bischitzky; the study of Russian classics in the context of biographical prose (the historical aspect of the problem), the literary and methodological discourses of literary biographies of classical writers are presented, theatrical interpretation is considered as one of the most effective ways of updating the classics; dialogue between Russian classics and the latest literature of the 21st century, trends in the intersection of modern and classical texts. Much attention is paid to the pedagogical aspect of the interaction of Russian classics with modernity in dialogue: the characteristics and stages of the lesson-dialogue, the pedagogical conditions for the emergence of educational situations; on the example of studying the story of A. P. Chekhov “Ionych”, the strategy of forming the reader’s literacy of schoolchildren is presented; methodical ways of “revival” of classical literature are considered; digital technologies that have passed experimental verification (information type and interpretation); algorithms for creating these technologies. The advantages of the collective monograph are highlighted: substantiation, deep cultural and literary context, brightness and originality of scientific research, being in demand both by the scientific community and language teachers, philology students and schoolchildren.
