Abstract
The review examines the book “Orenburg region in the XX — early XXI century” which contains a set of documents, ordered and systematized by the compilers in thematic blocks. This approach allowed them to document the history of the Orenburg region in development, showing the characteristic features of each stage. It is concluded that the peer-reviewed scientific publication significantly expands opportunities to solve educational tasks at history lessons and in extracurricular activities through in-depth study of the history of the native land.
