Abstract
The article considers formative assessment of factors to improve the quality of training. Based on the analysis of scientific literature, a checklist of formative assessment features has been developed: implementation of a set of pedagogical assessment functions; informing students about the assessment criteria; interactive assessment; individual approach; regulation of the psycho-emotional state of students; ensuring continuity of forms and methods of assessment; making adjustments to the learning process based on assessment data. Within the framework of the discipline “Rhetoric for a Lawyers”, experimental work was carried out, the content, progress and results of which are presented in the article. The study confirmed the positive impact of formative assessment on the quality of education and made it possible to note some features of formative assessment: regularity and systematic approach, the teacher’s readiness to provide feedback and make changes to training.
