Typical word order mistakes in Russian phrases and sentences according to testing data of Chinese middle school students

Abstract
The article presents the results of a study of typical word order mistakes made by Chinese students in Russian sentences and phrases while studying the Russian language. Ninety 12th-grade students of the Kaiqu School (Huaibei City, Anhui Province, China) took part in the testing. The written test included four blocks containing 24 test tasks and was aimed at checking the understanding of the rheme in the sentence, constructing sentences in accordance with their actual division, at correcting errors that violate the actual division of the sentence, translating phrases from Chinese into Russian. The study showed that students make mistakes when completing all blocks of tasks, while the number of errors in constructing phrases is much less than the number of errors in constructing sentences. The main reason for the errors is due to the lack of special teaching of word order in Russian language classes in Chinese schools. Under these conditions, students construct sentences and phrases according to the rules of the Chinese language.
