Abstract

The article-review of the doctoral dissertation emphasizes the relevance and novelty of the research within the framework of modern Russian historiography, characterizes the structure of the work, its theoretical and practical significance, identifies the key issues raised by the author related to the history of Russian and Tatar merchants in the Central Asian region. The author’s approach to study the development of economic relations between Russia and the peoples of Central Asia from the perspective of interaction between the state and private capital in this area is underlined. The conclusion is made about the great scientific significance of K. A. Abdrakhmanov’s research, useful not only for professional historians and economists, but also capable of arousing the interest of a wide range of readers.
