Electronic portfolio in assessing students’ educational achievements as a pedagogical technology and digital database

Abstract

The article proposes the use of an electronic portfolio as a technology for assessing educational achievements, which are evidence of the level of development of general professional and professional competencies of graduates — future teachers. Within the framework of the study, an electronic portfolio is considered from two positions: as a pedagogical technology for the professional development of a student and as a digital database of educational achievements, which proves this development. The methods of mastering the electronic portfolio technology are described, namely: within the framework of the discipline of the curriculum “E-portfolio in personal and professional development” of the direction “Pedagogical education” and in the process of implementing a separate module included in the content of the discipline “Pedagogical measurements of learning outcomes” of the curriculum of the direction “Professional training)”. The article presents the developed information system e-portfolio for creating a student’s electronic portfolio, which has been successfully tested at the Institute of Pedagogy, Psychology and Sociology of SFU and the Institute of Agroecological Technologies of KrasSAU. The results of the survey among students allow to conclude that they understand the electronic portfolio both as a pedagogical technology and as a digital database of educational achievements; demonstrate satisfaction with the functionality and possibilities of using the developed information system for creating an e-portfolio; consider the use of an electronic portfolio in the procedure of state final certification to be effective.
