Comparison of military ranks of Russia and Vietnam as a means of developing country-specific competence in teaching Russian as a foreign language

Abstract
The article examines a comparison of military ranks in Russia and Vietnam as a means of developing cultural and country-specific competence of cadets. The analysis reveals both similarities and notable differences in the names and structure of ranks in the two armies. This approach helps cadets expand their professional vocabulary and better navigate the system of the Russian Armed Forces, which is especially important for effective cross-cultural communication. The article also presents teaching material developed by the author, including comparative rank tables and exercises aimed at developing professional vocabulary and cultural competence. The materials in the article will be useful for teachers of Russian as a foreign language, particularly in military educational institutions.
