CHILDREN’S TOWNS IN THE SYSTEM OF WORKING WITH HOMELESS CHILDREN IN THE USSR (THE 1920—1930th)
Abstract
This scientific work reveals the reasons for the high rate of child homelessness in the USSR in the 1920—1930th, which led to the emergence of children’s towns in the country. The forms of fight against child homelessness are shown. The work of some children’s towns (Odessa Demonstrative Children’s Town named after Comintern, Akhtyrsk Children’s Town, Kiev Children’s Town, Malahovskiy Children’s Town near Moscow) is characterized. The paper also determines the most common problems for most children’s towns. They are poor educationalmaterial base, significant lack of personal things for children, poor nutrition of children, denormalization of the day regime by administration, etc.Key words
