ENRICHMENT OF THE ACTIVE VOCABULARY OF 5—6 YEARS OLD CHILDREN BY MEANS OF CHILDREN’S LOCAL HISTORY LITERATURE

Abstract

The article considers the important aspect of the development of preschool speech — the enrichment of the active vocabulary. In the light of the informatization of modern life and the trend of declining interest in fiction among the younger generation, the importance of teaching and educating preschoolers by means of fiction is emphasized. The authors studied children’s local history literature corresponding to the level of perception of 5—6 years old children, substantiated its potential as an effective educational tool, and based on texts of different genres, developed a system of exercises that not only contributes to the enrichment of children’s speech, but also has a rich potential for teaching them love for a small homeland, a sense of patriotism, pride in their land.
