THE GENRE OF PORTRAIT ESSAY IN RUSSIAN LESSONS IN HIGH SCHOOL
Abstract
The article is devoted to the problem of finding effective ways to teach the concept of an essay at the lessons of the Russian language in secondary school. Based on the analysis of works on stylistics and journalism, the understanding of the genre of the essay, its transformations in modern journalism, the specifics of the essay as a genre, its genre features and two-part structure (analytical and artistic components) were identified. The analysis of federal textbooks of the Russian language was carried out, diagnostic tasks were developed in order to establish the initial ideas of ninth-graders about the genre of the essay and its types, to identify difficulties in determining genre features in specific texts. The results of the ascertaining section among 9th grade students and the analysis of Russian textbooks made it possible to actualize the need to develop a system for working on an essay as a journalistic genre in Russian language lessons in secondary school. The methodology of teaching students the genre of essay and portrait essay, implemented through a cycle of speech lessons on the topic “Essay. Portrait sketch”, is modeled and described. In the development of lessons on mastering new speech concepts, attention is paid to reading and analyzing essay sample texts, taking into account the three-part structure of the texts, the use of semantic reading techniques (cluster, Venn rings), group work, differentiated tasks for preparing for an essay in the genre of a portrait essay.
